A rather pointless endeavor, Boeing’s R&D team in Madrid flies a small, two-seater fuel cell powered airplane for twenty minutes at 3,300 feet traveling 60 miles per hour. Tough luck for those of us having high hopes this event would set the standard for alternative fuel powered airline passenger jets in the near future. Unfortunately, a revolution in the airline industry is not likely as Boeing does not expect to use the fuel cell technology to power larger, commercial planes. In other words, continue to expect airline shut downs and increasing travel costs due to the rising cost of fuel. In summation, Pump N Go asks, what was the point?
